For over 25 years, the Foundation for the Development of the Education System (FRSE) has managed programmes, projects and initiatives aimed at broadening basic and specialist knowledge and acquisition of new skills and competencies in formal, non-formal and informal education settings.
FRSE is the only in Poland institution that possesses such a broad experience in managing education programmes, especially EU programmes. In the past, it has coordinated the Lifelong Learning Programme (Erasmus, Leonardo da Vinci, Comenius and Grundtvig) and Youth in Action in Poland. The reputation of the Foundation has resulted in entrusting it with the responsibilities of the Erasmus+ National Agency in the years 2014-2020.
The range of programmes and initiatives that the Foundation manages includes: eTwinning, Eurodesk, Europass, Eurydice, WorldSkills and EPALE.
Moreover, FRSE supports cooperation with eastern countries through Polish-Lithuanian Youth Exchange Fund and the SALTO Eastern Europe and Caucasus Resource Centre. From 2016 it has also managed the Polish-Ukrainian Youth Exchange Council. FRSE was the operator of the Scholarship and Training Fund forming part of the European Economic Area (EEA). Until 2016, FRSE acted as a Contact Point of the SCIEX Scholarship Fund in Poland.
From 2014, the Foundation has implemented Knowledge Education Development Operational Programme, which is the successor to the Human Capital Operational Programme.
In 2018, the Foundation was appointed the National Agency of the European Solidarity Corps, which is a programme devoted to volunteering, and the operator of the Education programme financed from EEA funds.
